STM at B’Nai Tzedek’s Good Deeds Day

STM spent a great day with the lovely families at B’Nai Tzedek Potomac on March 18, 2018 as they celebrated Good Deeds Day. Together they crafted 48 stuffies to be donated to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center Pediatrics. They also performed a number of other good deeds including collecting diapers for those in need, putting together Smart Sacks for Manna Food Center, crafting watercolor cards for IDF Soldiers, and making blankets for chemo patients. Our thanks to Adina Affens for inviting us to be part of their special day!

Daisy Troop #34039 crafting with Small Things Matter and Difference Makers

Small Things Matter and Difference Makers and  had the pleasure of hosting a crafting session for Daisy Troop #34039 on Sunday, February 4, 2018.  The troop helped Small Things Matter decorate canvas and fleece monster stuffies for Children’s National Medical Center. They also helped Difference Makers make and decorate pinatas for Extra-Ordinary Birthdays. The Daisies also donated books for Reading Reconnections Families and party supplies for ExtraOrdinary Birthdays. Thank you Scout Leader Jen Engledow, Daisy parents, and Daisies for spending your afternoon crafting with us.  We hope to see you again soon!

STM at MLK Day of Service

Small Things Matter ran a monster stuffies table to benefit the kids at Children’s National Medical Center at the MLK Day of Service at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center on January 15, 2018 from 1-3pm. Children of all ages made stuffies either by drawing on canvas monster blanks or by using felt and safety eyes to decorate fleece monster blanks. They also sent along signed cards to send a happy greeting to each patient. It was amazing!!! Our thanks to Montgomery County Volunteer Center who hosted this wonderful event and to everyone who made a stuffie to brighten a child’s day!
