Everyone had a lovely evening filled with exciting games, wonderful prizes, great caricatures, delicious cotton candy, and more. #kindness
Lana and Leela of Small Things Matter had an amazing time at the Sandy Spring Museum‘s Strawberry Festival on June 2, 2017. They helped the kids create kindness rocks to be abandoned and discovered by others as a Random Act of Kindness. The day was filled with lots of kids’ activities, craft vendors, food trucks, and more. We can’t wait to join in the fun again next year! 🙂
STM went around Takoma Park today and filled a few Little Free Libraries in the neighborhood with some preloved books. If you know of a LFL that could use some books please drop us a line! Thanks!

Their donation of 300 copies of “The Man and the Fox” and 300 copies of the bilingual (Spanish/English) “Fatima The Spinner And The Tent” will go a long way in helping us distribute free books to those in need. Thank you for your kind, generous, and continued support!
Lana led a piñata crafting project with Daisy Troop #44054 on Sunday, May 20, 2018. The Daisies wanted to help homeless children and were thrilled to be able to make some pinatas to donate to these to Extra-Ordinary Birthdays, to be used to host birthday parties for children living in shelters.
STM shared their books with the children at Difference Makers Kokua Foods Distribution at Rolling Terrace Elementary School on Sunday, May 20. The children were delighted to pick out new books to take home and read.
STM visited Girl Scout Troop 135 on Saturday, May 19. Lana talked about her experiences as the co-President of Difference Makers, as a NIH Teen Ambassador, and her work with Small Things Matter. Afterwards she led a monster stuffie crafting workshop for the troop. The girls decided to donate their stuffies to a variety of children’s hospitals (Children’s Inn at NIH, Children’s National, and Shady Grove Adventist, Pediatrics Unit) because they wanted to support all of these wonderful charities that help children through a difficult time in their lives.
