STM received a wonderful and large donation of 32 women’s matching hat and scarf sets, 127 scarves, 167 hats, 16 blankets, and 30 pillows from Phyllis Donoghue/Yarns of Warmth, Suburban Hospital on November 3, 2018. Her team of 95 knitters and crocheters work on these items all year long to help those in need. We will be sharing these with the families at the Difference Makers Kokua Foods distributions throughout the month of November. Thanks again friends at Yarns of Warmth! #kindness
We delivered 167 scarves for the families, children, and individuals at Stepping Stones Shelter in Rockville, Interfaith Works Women’s Shelter in Rockville, and The National Center for Children and Families in Bethesda on October 30 and November 1. These scarves are a result of many hands working together: 80 preK and preschoolers from The Goddard School in Olney, Montgomery County Volunteer Center volunteers, Difference Makers, and Small Things Matter. Thanks everyone for your #kindness!

“The world is full of exceptional people. The people in the world who do kindness, or search for the truth despite their lives being at risk. The engineers, the teachers, the doctors, and adoptive parents, the scholars and the firemen, and yes, the journalists. People who risk everything for the sake of others and those who simply try to help those whose needs be greater than their own. Those people inspire me, not the other way around.”
