STM at Sandy Spring Museum’s Strawberry Fest

Lana and Leela of Small Things Matter had an amazing time at the Sandy Spring Museum‘s Strawberry Festival on June 2, 2017.  They helped the kids create kindness rocks to be abandoned and discovered by others as a Random Act of Kindness.  The day was filled with lots of kids’ activities, craft vendors, food trucks, and more.  We can’t wait to join in the fun again next year!  🙂

STM receives a donation of 600 books from Share Literacy on May 24, 2018

Small Things Matter would like to thank Steve and Barbara Whitney/ Share Literacy for their generous book donation for our Books To Bedtime Program. Their donation of 300 copies of “The Man and the Fox” and 300 copies of the bilingual (Spanish/English) “Fatima The Spinner And The Tent” will go a long way in helping us distribute free books to those in need.  Thank you for your kind, generous, and continued support!

STM Stuffie Workshop with Girl Scout Troop 135 on Saturday, May 19

STM visited Girl Scout Troop 135 on Saturday, May 19.  Lana talked about her experiences as the co-President of Difference Makers, as a NIH Teen Ambassador, and her work with Small Things Matter.  Afterwards she led a monster stuffie crafting workshop for the troop.  The girls decided to donate their stuffies to a variety of children’s hospitals (Children’s Inn at NIH, Children’s National, and Shady Grove Adventist, Pediatrics Unit) because they wanted to support all of these wonderful charities that help children through a difficult time in their lives.
