Kokua Foods:
Kokua is a Hawaiian word meaning “to give selflessly without any expectation of anything in return. Small Things Matters’ Kokua Foods Program provides over 8000 food insecure individuals in Maryland with fresh produce and grocery, chicken, casseroles, non-perishable, household goods, feminine hygiene products, schools supplies through many amazing partnerships with local grocery stores, churches, and Montgomery County.
We serve families in apartments, local schools, including Title I schools, senior centers/apartments, and the University of Maryland Campus Pantry. We also distribute fresh produce through our community distributions as well as our STM Tuesday Teen Pantry distributions. In addition, fresh produce, grocery items, and prepared foods are shared at the various community pantries.
If you are in need of food help or would like to volunteer to help pack and distribute food please reach out to us at thesmallthingsmatter@yahoo.com.
